SBFC’s Pre-Academy program provides a structured, professional training ground for players aged 9–12 who are ready to elevate their technical standards beyond recreational play. Whether a player is transitioning from house league or is a late bloomer looking to close the gap in speed and game intelligence, we provide the coaching necessary to refine their skills and prepare them to pursue the next level of competition.
Ages 9–12 represent the golden age of learning, where players are most receptive to developing fine motor skills. Building on the physical literacy established in our Little BALRs program, the Pre-Academy shifts focus toward refined ball manipulation, passing accuracy, and first-touch mastery. Our professional coaches ensure every player remains actively engaged in high-repetition, meaningful skill-building designed to meet the technical demands of a higher level of play.
While we prioritize individual growth, we begin introducing players to the foundational concepts of the SBFC standardized playing system. By learning the specific roles and responsibilities expected in a more structured environment, players begin developing game IQ and grow accustomed to the speed of play necessary for future evaluations. This alignment ensures that if a player is ready to pursue a competitive team spot, they understand the commitment to excellence that defines our Academy teams.
Every athlete develops at a different pace, and the Pre-Academy offers a supportive environment to build confidence without the immediate pressure of league results. We view this program as part of our development pathway, focusing on the individual’s technical journey today to help them prepare for the challenges of tomorrow. Our goal is to nurture personal talent so that every player, including late bloomers, can reach their full potential at their own speed.
